What Is Sourcewell?
Sourcewell is a national cooperative purchasing program that serves public agencies across the United States and Canada. Sourcewell runs a competitive solicitation and awards contracts that members can use directly. This approach saves time, reduces administrative work, and keeps you aligned with public procurement rules.
Membership is free for government, education, and qualifying nonprofit entities. Contracts are publicly awarded, and your purchasing team can access solicitation and award documentation for its files.
Why Purchase Flood Barriers Through Sourcewell?
Competitive Pricing
Sourcewell uses the combined purchasing power of thousands of agencies, which supports fair pricing and responsible use of public funds.
Faster Procurement
Since the contract is already competitively awarded, your agency can purchase under the existing agreement once you are a Sourcewell member.
Better Compliance
Sourcewell contracts follow public procurement standards and provide the documentation your auditors, boards, and councils expect.
Cascade’s Flood Barriers
Cascade Engineering is the North American distributor for an innovative, Swedish-designed flood barrier system that helps public agencies protect infrastructure, facilities, and neighborhoods during high-water events. The modular structure lets you build barrier lines that follow streets, riverbanks, and building fronts.

Modular and Flexible
Configure barrier runs to match local site conditions, including curves, corners, and elevation changes.

Reusable System
Deploy, remove, and store the barriers for future events, which reduces long-term waste compared with sandbags.

Built for Public Works
Designed for quick setup with trained crews and supported by Cascade’s engineering and public sector team in North America.
How It Works
Most public agencies can use Sourcewell contracts once they join. This includes cities and townships, counties and regional authorities, state agencies, public utilities, school districts, colleges and universities, and tribal governments.
Step 1
Join Sourcewell if you are not already a member. Registration is free for qualifying public agencies.
Step 2
Review the Cascade Engineering flood barrier contract, 040825-CEI, on the Sourcewell website to see the term and pricing.
Step 3
Work with Cascade to review your sites, project goals, and timeline, then request a quote under the Sourcewell contract.
Step 4
Your purchasing team issues a purchase order using the contract, and Cascade coordinates production, delivery, and training.
How Our Flood Barriers Can Help
Protect Critical Facilities
Shield city halls, police and fire stations, emergency operation centers, and other high-priority buildings that need to stay operational during storms.
Keep Roads and Bridges Open
Place barriers along known low spots, underpasses, and busy corridors to reduce closure time and keep traffic moving as long as conditions allow.
Support Utilities and Treatment Plants
Create a defensive line for pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, power substations, and telecom sites that cannot afford extended outages.
Preserve Parks and Waterfronts
Help reduce erosion and damage along riverwalks, parks, and public recreation areas near flood-prone waterways.
