Supplier snags top Honda award

Honda has recognized a local company for is corporate citizenship with an award that is given annually to only one of its 600 North American suppliers.

Cascade Engineering of Grand Rapids is the recipient of this year’s Corporate Citizenship Award, which was presented by Honda during the car maker’s recent annual supplier conference.

The award is presented each year to one supplier that shows an “exceptional commitment to social responsibility and leadership in the areas of health, safety, diversity, community involvement, ethics and compliance, human rights and the environment.”

Cascade Engineering has a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, and is one of the largest Certified B-Corps in the world.

Mark Miller, president and CEO of Cascade Engineering, said the company is “grateful” to receive the recognition.

Cascade Engineering also was one of only 36 suppliers to receive Honda’s Excellence in Quality Award this year.
