| Cascade Engineering Recognized as Clean Corporate Citizen by State of Michigan GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan, August 5, 2002 – Leading plastics firm Cascade Engineering, Inc. of Grand Rapids recently became Michigan’s 50th Clean Corporate Citizen as Gov. John Engler and Department of Environmental Quality Director Russel J. Harding approved the designation. To earn Clean Corporate Citizen status, a company must demonstrate consistent environmental compliance, adopt pollution prevention programs and use an effective environmental management system. Through this voluntary program, Cascade Engineering management and employees have demonstrated their concern for the environment and are setting an example for all Michigan companies on how to effectively merge environmental efforts with daily business operations. “I congratulate Cascade Engineering, a company that has demonstrated a commitment to sound environmental principles, on this distinction,” Engler said. “With this award, the Clean Corporate Citizen program has reached a milestone: 50 Michigan companies have now been honored for their effective environmental management systems.” As a Clean Corporate Citizen, Cascade Engineering, Inc. is eligible for certain benefits under the state air quality, surface water, ground water and underground storage tank permitting programs.
