| Cascade Engineering Acquires Orlando-Based TrashPorters; Plans to Expand Waste Service Nationally GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan, February 1, 2002 – Cascade Engineering has formed a new service-oriented enterprise called Invisible Waste Services, LLC. To launch operations for Invisible Waste Services, Cascade Engineering has acquired TrashPorters from Waste Management of Florida, a valet trash service that serves apartment communities in the Orlando area. TrashPorters coordinates daily pickups from unique trash-concealing bench containers outside residents’ apartment doors. The specially crafted benches, designed and produced by Cascade Engineering, are known as the Bench-Mate™ – an aesthetically pleasing garden bench design that is molded from durable, high density, UV stable polyethylene. Mike Valz, president and chief operating officer of Cascade Engineering, said the company hopes to expand the TrashPorters concept nationwide. “TrashPorters was founded because we truly believe this is a valuable service to our potential customers,” Valz said. “Giving residents the convenience of door-side trash collection while concealing the waste is also the vision behind our development of the Bench-Mate™, and we are very excited to take over this concept in Orlando and begin our plans to bring it to other parts of the nation.” Cascade Engineering is a world leader in injection molding of systems and components for the automotive, solid waste and industrial markets. The company has an unswerving determination to achieve worthy goals. The Cascade Engineering Family of Companies, which employs more than 1,200 people, reported 2000 revenues of $215 million.
