Cascade Engineering Names New Executive Vice President

Grand Rapids, Michigan – Cascade Engineering has named Michael W. Valz its new executive vice president. Fred P. Keller, CEO, made the announcement.

As executive vice president Valz will oversee operations in the company’s Automotive Trim group, Seating and Furniture group, Home & Health unit and the Acoustics group – including Noble Polymers. He will also be involved in supplier development and the company’s lean manufacturing initiatives.

“Michael brings with him a proven track record managing high profile projects for highly successful companies,” Keller said. “His knowledge and background in continuous improvement, quality assurance and logistics fits our company’s goals and objectives. We’re happy to have him join us.”

Valz comes to Cascade Engineering from Herman Miller, Inc., a $1.8 billion international manufacturer of furniture systems and seating for business and healthcare, where he was executive vice president of operations.

Prior to his tenure at Herman Miller, Inc., Valz spent seven years with Batesville Casket Company, a $680 million subsidiary of Hillenbrand Industries, in Batesville, Indiana; and 19 years with General Motors Corporation.
